The film studios’ employer association, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), presented an offer to the striking actors on Friday.

AMPTP, which represents Netflix, Walt Disney and other producers, has said it is the “last, best and final offer”, according to a statement from the actors’ union Sag-Aftra on Saturday.

– We are studying the offer and considering which answer to give, the union states.

AMPTP has not responded to Reuters’ requests for comment on the case.

AMPTP had previously warned Sag-Aftra that an agreement must be reached by the end of the week to avoid the cancellation of certain TV series and to prevent postponements of film premieres planned for the summer.

Sag-Aftra represents 160,000 actors and other industry professionals. They have been on strike since mid-July. They demand a higher basic salary, income from streaming and restrictions on the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

The negotiations between the parties have broken down a number of times.
