Hass Demands Review and Appeals FIA Decision on Non-Compliant Drivers and Track Limits in Recent Austin Race

We may not yet know the final results of the race held two weeks ago in Austin. Four hours after the finish, two cars, including one on the podium, were disqualified for non-compliance (over-worn pad). Now two GPs later, Haas is demanding a right to review, contesting the FIA’s decision not to penalize certain drivers guilty of non-compliance with track limits that day.

Pierre Gasly, during the race, complained in particular about the trajectories of Perez who sharply cut a corner. The commissioners officiating in the United States will be in Paris this week to study the request from the US team. If they find that new evidence supports their claim, then an appeal hearing would be held.
