Sabrina Carpenter’s latest song “Feather” doesn’t sit well with religious leaders. Brooklyn Bishop Robert Brennan takes the matter “seriously and will look into it more closely.”
A clip that arouses controversy. Posted online on October 31 and already viewed nearly 3 million times, “Feather,” Sabrina Carpenter’s latest music video, does not seem to please those in charge of the Diocese of Brooklyn.
For good reason, the singer appears dancing provocatively on the altar of the historic Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, dating from the 19th century, in Brooklyn.
An open investigation
In a press release sent to Catholic News AgencyBrooklyn Bishop Robert Brennan said he was “dismayed that a church was used to film a provocative clip” and announced the opening of an investigation to understand how this could have been possible.
The diocese said “the parish failed to follow diocesan policy regarding filming on Church property, which includes review of scenes and script.”
According to the Catholic News Agency, the parish told the diocese that the production company “failed to accurately represent the content of the video.”
