Identifying Symptoms and Risk Factors of Pancreatic Cancer

Certain symptoms indicate pancreatic cancer, the most prominent of which are tangible and palpable changes in the abdomen and deep pain in the upper part of it.

The German Center for Cancer Research said that the cancerous tumor can obstruct the flow of bile, causing the skin and conjunctiva of the eye to change color to yellow.

The growing tumor can also cause narrowing of the duodenum or stomach outlet, leading to nausea and vomiting.

Symptoms also include unexplained weight loss, loss of appetite, fever, night sweats, extreme fatigue, decreased ability to exercise, and diarrhea or constipation.

The center stressed the need to consult a doctor as soon as you notice these symptoms in order to undergo timely treatment, because the earlier pancreatic cancer is discovered, the greater the chances of recovery.

It is noteworthy that the risk factors that increase the risk of pancreatic cancer are genetics, diabetes, smoking, and drinking alcohol. The risk also increases in people who have had their stomach removed.
