Haifa Hussein’s Battle with a Threatening Disease: Loss of Speech

Bahraini artist Haifa Hussein raised concerns among her followers by announcing the start of treatment for a disease that threatens her with loss of speech. Haifa said, in a video clip on her social accounts: “I continued treatment at a medical center in the Emirates, and the treatment journey will last 3 weeks, during which I will not be able to speak except in a very low voice… I cannot make any vocal effort.” Haifa explained that she felt bad in her voice about 3 months ago when she caught a severe cold while filming her scenes in the series “Luna’s Story” in Jordan. She explained that when she returned to Bahrain, she lost her voice for 10 days, which prompted her to visit a specialist doctor who confirmed that her vocal cords and mouth muscles were exhausted, and asked her to see a speech pathologist, which shocked her. Haifa said: “Imagine the shock, I was asked to visit a speech pathologist, and despite my treatment for two months with cortisone, my voice became weak and abnormal.”
