Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says on Saturday that he is severing contact with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a result of the country’s actions in Gaza.
– Netanyahu is no longer someone we can talk to. We have written him off, says Erdogan, according to Turkish media.
Turkey recently restored all diplomatic relations with Israel. But in the last two weeks, Erdogan has sharply sharpened his tone towards Israel. He has canceled a planned trip to the country and has described the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas as freedom fighters.
