Nancy Lee Shorterage
Nancy Lee Shorterage, 79, of Kiantone, NY passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023 at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital.
She was born Monday, September 18, 1944 in Jamestown, NY to Walter and Elva Lee Colver and was later adopted by her grandparents Leonard and Evelene Bragg.
Nancy graduated from Frewsburg Central School and was a veteran of the US Army.
Before retirement, she was employed at the Resource Center as a caregiver for many years.
She loved animals, enjoyed reading, writing poetry, and taking care of her plants. She had a generous heart and helped others, never asking or expecting anything in return.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Tara Lee Shorterage; three grandchildren: Brittany N. Maxwell, Jacob R. Maxwell, Saysha B. Walden; nine great-grandchildren; a sister Donna Dietz; and two brothers Alvin Bragg and David Alicea.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ruben James Shorterage, a brother William Stacey, and a sister Althea Miley.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Peterson Funeral Home in Frewsburg, NY. Pastor Robert B. Benson will officiate. Burial will be in Ivory Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday prior to the service in the funeral home.
