Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Israel claimed responsibility for the attack on an ambulance outside Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, Friday (3/11) local time, which reportedly killed dozens and injured dozens of people.
Reported CNN, Saturday (4/11) Indonesian time, a number of videos from the scene of the incident showed people covered in blood and scattered on the ground around the wrecked ambulance. According to Hamas health authorities, at least 15 people were killed and 50 others injured.

In a statement, Israel claimed it targeted the ambulance because it was used by Hamas.
“An IDF plane [Israel Defense Forces] attacked an ambulance identified as being used by Hamas cells near their positions in the battle zone,” the IDF statement said.
“A number of Hamas members were killed in the attack. We have information indicating that Hamas’ method of operation is to transfer terror members and weapons by ambulance,” the IDF claimed.
However, a spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said on Friday (3/11) local time that the ambulance was part of a medical convoy originating from the hospital.
The convoy was traveling to the Rafah border and they had informed the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) regarding the agenda.

The ICRC also confirmed that they knew the schedule for the convoy of vehicles carrying many patients from northern Gaza to the south.
However, they said they were not part of the activity, even though they acknowledged receiving a request from the Gaza Minister of Health to accompany the convoy.
“We were informed by the (Palestinian) Ministry of Health about the convoy’s schedule, but we were not part of the activity,” the ICRC said in a statement to CNN.
“Even if we weren’t there, this was still a medical convoy, and any violence against medical personnel is unacceptable,” they said.
“No doctor, nurse or any other medical professional should die while working to save lives.” he continued.
The attack extends the impact of Israel’s aggression on Gaza over the past few days which has resulted in the narrow territory and limited Palestinian access continuing to claim lives.
Conditions in Gaza are also increasingly worrying because Israeli attacks are targeting refugee camps, hospitals and blocking fuel supplies which means the people of the Gaza Strip have no electricity.
One of the impacts of Israel’s blockade on Gaza is the fate of hospitals that accommodate war victims, such as the Indonesian Hospital (RSI) in Gaza.
The Indonesian Hospital (RSI) in the Gaza Strip is in critical condition because it has to survive by relying on a single power generator, while the number of patients continues to arrive.
Volunteer for the humanitarian organization MER-C, Fikri Rofiul Haq, said that currently electricity consumption in patient rooms must be reduced to save fuel.
“Currently, the use of electricity in patient rooms is reduced to save fuel. Electricity is prioritized on the first floor, because there is an emergency room,” said Fikri in an audio message received CNNIndonesiaFriday (3/11).
