There are virtually no trains running to and from Utrecht Central Station on Friday evening. NS speaks of “inconvenience due to logistical limitations”, but it is unclear what that means.
It is not clear what exactly is going on. According to the website, “It is being investigated how and whether the malfunction can be resolved. Train traffic should run according to timetable again around 12:30 am.
Many routes have been prevented due to the disruption. For example, it is almost impossible for travelers to travel to Amsterdam, Schiphol, Leiden, The Hague, Rotterdam, Arnhem and Eindhoven.
Many travelers are stranded at Utrecht Central Station. The signs with departure times almost all turn red. At this time, often only a taxi is possible.
