Controversy Surrounding Microsoft’s Advertising of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on Xbox

Did you see what happened to Starfield, a great game but it generated so much hate on the internet that I’ve never seen anything come close. Now we are faced with another, Call of Dutywhich began to generate controversy on social media unprecedented.

As we said earlier, the fact is that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is generating controversy for appearing on the Xbox home screen. When you turn on your console, a screen for the new Activision title appears as marketing. Something common with all major Microsoft first parties. For some reason, some people are not happy about this.

Meanwhile, in Redditseveral members of the Xbox community labeled this marketing stunt as “vomit inducing” e “unacceptable”. Yes, there are people saying it made them want to vomit! Others say they will go to Playstation!

Is it right for Microsoft to advertise its games on Xbox? Keep in mind that if you press “B” the screen disappears! The people who complained went to more trouble to post the complaint than just skipping the Call of Duty screen.

However, the most surprising part now comes with Tom Warren’s comment:

Where was all the outrage when Microsoft made the same full-screen pop-ups on Xbox for Starfield, Forza, the ABK agreement, Xbox Showcase? I don’t like these pop-ups, but they aren’t new or because Microsoft owns CoD. I also don’t like those pop-ups on Apple TV 4K or YouTube Premium spam.

Anyway, the controversy is there, but it seems that before it didn’t bother, but now that Call of Duty is from Microsoft it seems like not everyone is happy with it. Until then, press B and in less than 1 second your problem will be solved and you can move on with your life.

What do you think of this? Shouldn’t Microsoft promote its games this way on Xbox?
