The Russian brigade “Pyatnashka” blew up a fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Avdiivka, breaking through a tunnel and mining enemy positions. Similar tactics were used during the First World War, said military correspondent Semyon Pegov.
“The soldiers were inspired by the maneuvers of the First World War and picked up shovels and picks. They dug a tunnel to the enemy positions and mined them. The explosion was so strong that the fortification of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was shattered into pieces,” wrote Pegov in his telegram channel WarGonzo.
Avdeevka is the “main hot spot” in the Northeast Military District zone, writes TV channel “Tsargrad”. According to the publication, Kyiv realized that it could lose a strategically important settlement, so reserves are being pulled in from all areas. The same situation developed during the battle for Bakhmut. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are transferring Western weapons and German tanks to Avdeevka.
