Although Voltage already has an impressive portfolio of mobile otome, they only released their first real Switch game last year: even if TEMPEST. And that apparently left us wanting more, because Voltage announces three new games for the Switch! Two of these games are planned for 2024 and a third for 2025. Neon Mafia
“From the depths of a neon city comes a declaration of war.” said Voltage. And from what we see, it doesn’t seem like a word of a lie: the brightly colored style immediately catches the eye. If the trailer is to be believed, in the futuristic and edgy Neon Mafia (as the game is currently called) you play mafia boss Liu Kroa, the ‘Mastermind who Transports Fate’. What exactly that entails remains a surprise, but you can already take a look at the four characters who probably have the role of LI.
Kaleido Tower
“Turn it all into a beautiful display. Your folly, your weakness, your shame… Your corpse.” Wow, a nice ominous tagline! Where the Neon Mafia trailer has a colorful and action-packed atmosphere, Kaleido Tower is the opposite: dark and classic. You seem to see a glimpse of the titular Kaleido Tower, a beautiful castle full of stained glass (which undoubtedly gives it its name). And while Neon Mafia was not about who the main characters are, this game seems to lean more on a mystery angle. Very intriguing!
Vampire Hunter
“Humans and Vampires. A game with the world’s fate in the balance is about to begin.” Vampire fans will have to wait a little longer, because this Voltage game is scheduled for 2025. From the trailer, you can conclude that you play a girl who becomes a vampire hunter to avenge her family. But when you get to the end of the film, you almost get the feeling that there is something more going on than a simple ‘vampires are the bad guys’ story.
As you can see in the various trailers, Voltage seems to have something for every otome fan to announce. Which game are you most looking forward to?
