On the night of Friday, Ukraine was hit by the biggest drone attack in several weeks. The country’s second largest city Kharkiv is among the places that were attacked.
Russian drones hit civilian targets and infrastructure in several Ukrainian cities, according to local authorities.
According to the Kharkiv region’s governor, Oleh Synjehubov, the attacks were aimed at civilian infrastructure in the city, which is located in northeastern Ukraine. Synjehubov states that eight people, including two children, were injured in the attacks.
The attacks also sparked a fire in the city, which is Ukraine’s second largest. Kharkiv’s mayor Ihor Terekhov later stated that firefighters brought the fire under control.

Zelenskyj expects more attacks
According to Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, eight private homes, a three-storey building, several cars and a car workshop were hit in the attacks against Kharkiv.
The Ukrainian air force says it shot down 24 out of 40 Russian drones used in the attacks on the night of Friday. In addition to Kharkiv, the drone attacks targeted Odesa and Kherson regions in the south, as well as Lviv in the west. The latter is located on the border with Poland.
– We realize that Russian terrorists will try to do more damage now that winter is approaching. We will respond to the enemy’s attack, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a statement.
Affected infrastructure
Governor Maksym Kozytskyj of the Lviv region says parts of their infrastructure were hit five times overnight, without giving further details of the damage.
No one will be killed in the attacks against the region.
Also Governor Oleh Kiper of the Odessa region says that their infrastructure was hit in the attacks.
