Felix Slováček understandably has an indescribable fear for his daughter Anička. Only twenty-eight years old, the singer and actress has already beaten cancer once, but now the disease has returned and this time it has affected her lungs. How does Felix experience the whole situation as a father?
No parent wants to watch their child struggle with an insidious disease like cancer. Felix Slováček (80) tries to be the maximum support for his daughter Anna Julia Slováčková (28). However, positive thinking does not always come easily, although the whole family is constantly trying to do so. Fear is probably the most accurate feeling that can be used to describe what everyone experiences.

To occupy his head somehow, Felix continues to do what he likes. He spends his time playing and trying to enjoy the little things so that he doesn’t have to think about unpleasant things at all. “On the one hand, it depresses me, on the other hand, it annoys me, as they say, but I can’t do anything other than believe that everything will turn out well,” Slováček told the website Extra.cz.
Felix Slováček confided how he perceives the situation surrounding his daughter Anička’s illness:
Doctors did not recognize the disease at first
Felix was with his daughter for an examination, where the disease was confirmed. He heard the overwhelming news about the return of the cancer from the doctor directly with Anička. “I went with her to see Dr. Černochová when she first x-rayed her and found out that something was going on there. Then, of course, she sent us for more and more tests and we found out that it’s not good,” the saxophonist described. The worst thing is that the doctors had no idea about the disease at first. “When she coughed, the doctors said it was reflux. We came up with it only after I partially got involved,” added Slováček.

According to her father, Anička tries to spend time with friends and continue performing as a singer. She has already managed to beat breast cancer in the past and she is not going to give up this time either. She bravely fights adversity and seeks distraction in the things she loves and makes her happy. “For now, she’s performing and I think she’ll continue to perform as long as she has the strength, because I think it’s the only chance to regain her energy and not think about bad things,” her father described.

But the 80-year-old musician has no idea how aggressive the tumor is. “It is said that it is far more aggressive in young people than in older people, so I would probably take it far more than Andulka,” said Slováček, who would prefer to take the disease on himself. And what are the treatment options? “There are more options for conventional medicine, so if chemotherapy doesn’t work, there can be biological treatment, there can be radiotherapy, so all I know is that there are more options,” concludes Felix.
