At Dutch car company VDL Nedcar in Born, near the Belgian border, 2,000 jobs will disappear again in March. The news comes after an earlier round of layoffs in which 1,000 temporary workers and 500 permanent employees lost their jobs. Several hundred Belgians also work for the company. “Many of them have already experienced the Ford crisis, and this news hits them even harder,” says Jorgo Triantafyllidis of ABVV Metalen.
