The Israeli army claimed its troops had surrounded the Hamas stronghold in Gaza City, Thursday local time. The siege comes after days of expanding ground operations in the besieged Palestinian territory.
“The Israeli army has completed the siege of Gaza city, the center of the Hamas terror organization,” military spokesman Daniel Hagari told reporters, reported by AFP, Friday (3/11/2023).
Israeli troops have been engaged in heavy ground fighting inside the Palestinian territories since Friday evening. Even as calls grow for Israel to halt its air and ground attacks.
“The concept of a ceasefire is currently not being discussed at all,” Hagari said.
