Teenager Indicted for False Bomb Alert at Ingersheim High School – Latest News and Updates

For a false bomb alert which caused the evacuation of the Ingersheim high school (Haut-Rhin) on October 17, a 16-year-old teenager was indicted in Montauban two weeks later, the prosecution said.

The high school and middle school students from the Lazare de Schwendi school group in Ingersheim (Haut-Rhin) had to leave the building urgently on Tuesday, October 17 due to a bomb threat. As with two other Alsatian establishments, it was a false alarm. The perpetrator of the misdeed, a 16-year-old teenager, was indicted in Montauban on Tuesday October 31, two weeks later.

A priori not at all radicalized“, according to the prosecution, but still claiming to act on behalf of “soldiers of Allah“, the teenager reported in an email that four bombs had been planted during the night within and outside the Ingersheim school complex.

The gendarmes, accompanied by a dog team, intervened at the end of the morning. After evacuating the establishment and searching the premises, the police concluded that it was a false alarm.

The investigative work of the cyber gendarmes led to his arrest. He spent around thirty hours in police custody then was indicted for having communicated.false information with the aim of making people believe that destruction is going to be or has been committed“.

Faced with these false alarms which multiplied after the assassination of the Arras professor, Dominique Bernard, on October 13, the rectorate then said it wanted to display a face of firmness. “Every time we will file a complaint“, insisted the rector of the academy, Olivier Faron. (with AFP)
