Self-service checkouts in Biedronka chain stores have gained a new function that reduces the time needed to make purchases. The solution has so far been introduced in several supermarkets.
When using a traditional self-service checkout, when a customer wants to pay for a product offered by scale, he or she must first find it on a list of several dozen different items.
The new option makes it
After placing the selected product on the built-in scale, the self-service checkout recognizes its color

in the next step, it displays only products that match the recognized color
. This shortens the list from which you have to choose the product you want to buy from several dozen to just a few items.
For example, if we put bananas on the scale, these fruits will appear in the search options, as well as other available yellow products, e.g. apples or green beans.
According to spidersweb.pl, this solution is currently only available in a few Biedronka stores throughout Poland. It is not known whether and when it will be available in other stores belonging to this chain.
Do not provide your phone number at Biedronka. You may regret it
Biedronka stores often tempt with a large product offer and various promotions. To take advantage of price discounts, you must have a store loyalty card. You can have it in the application on your phone, as a classic plastic card, or by providing your phone number at the checkout. But never do this.
Other people standing in line can save your phone number and benefit from your discounts. This is a big problem because some discounts contain a one-time code, i.e. intended only for one customer. If someone uses your number before you do, you will lose out.
