Polish Player Iga Świątek Defeats Coco Gauff in WTA Finals Tournament

Seeded number two, Iga Świątek won against American Coco Gauff (no. 3) 6-0, 7-5 in her second match in the WTA Finals tennis tournament in Cancun. On Monday, the world number two defeated the Czech Marketa Vondrousova 7-6 (7-3), 6-0.

It was the 10th duel between a Polish woman and an American in tournaments under the aegis of the WTA and the ninth victory of the Polish woman. In all the matches Świątek won, she did not lose a single set.

In a later match of the same group, Vondrousova will play against Tunisian Ons Jabeur.
