The Death of Matthew Perry: No Fentanyl or Methamphetamine Involved, Says Report from US Law Enforcement

The death of actor Matthew Perry, famous for his role as Chandler Bing in the hit TV series “Friends”, did not occur as a result of an overdose of fentanyl or methamphetamine, TMZ reports, citing sources in the US law enforcement agencies.

The outlet reports that after conducting an “initial analysis,” investigators “found no traces of fentanyl or methamphetamine in Perry’s system. However, the forensic examination included “more extensive tests” to determine whether the actor’s blood contained “other prohibited substances” or “dangerous levels of prescription drugs”.

TMZ writes that the results of additional tests will be known in 4-6 months, after which it will be possible to finally establish the cause and circumstances surrounding the death of the American television star.

The body of Matthew Perry, who died at the age of 54, was found on October 28 in his home in the state of California, BTA reported.

The series “Friends”, with the participation of which Perry became famous, was broadcast from September 1994 to May 2004. A total of 236 episodes were filmed. The series won six television Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe Film Award.
