We each produce 280 kilos of trash a year and in it and there’s a lot of stuff that shouldn’t be in there. For packaging (glass, cardboard, plastic, etc.) it must be recognized that most French people have gotten into the habit of sorting. But we will be able and even must do better.
A law passed in 2020 provided that from January 1, 2024, all communities will have to offer their residents a solution so that their organic waste can be recycled: peelings, leftover meals, green waste, etc.
In this podcast episode Focus, we will see if the municipalities are ready, what solutions we will be offered and what is the challenge of sorting this waste. Pauline Debrabandère,
campaign coordinator at Zero Waste Francean association that works on waste reduction, will help us see things more clearly.
