Bloomberg reportsthat Apple plans to add two major new features to the 2024 Apple Watch.
Firstly, the watch will have a sensor for measuring arterial (blood) pressure. The system will simply notify the user whether their blood pressure is trending upward. The watch will prompt the user to record the data in a log. To avoid potential misdiagnosis, this feature will immediately advise the wearer to see a doctor or check their blood pressure with a cuff.
In the future, the system will show accurate values and diagnose the conditions for the occurrence of such indicators.
Secondly, the new Apple Watch will have a sleep apnea detection function (approx. a disorder in which a person repeatedly stops breathing while sleeping). To do this, the watch will analyze the user’s breathing rate and sleep quality.
Finally, in its article, Bloomberg adds that the very first Apple Watch should have received the function of non-invasive blood sugar measurement. However, the technology was repeatedly delayed due to the complexity of development. [MacRumors]
