The story of Folcris, a special Pokémon is the title of the new work by theater which has created ‘Apaga y vámonos’, a company formed by students and teachers of the CEE Albanta-Sagunt, previously known as the Sant Cristòfol Special Education Center and that will see the light for the first time next December 15. In the act of pThe mayor of Sagunt participated in the presentation of this show, Dario Moreno; the Councilor for Education, Raúl Palmero; and Xavi and Pilar Lloris, members of the Albanta-Sagunt CEE. The students from the center who participate in the project, as well as other teachers, were also present.
Moreno has valued the bravery of the Albanta-Sagunt CEE when it comes to opening the project beyond the center itself, to amplify everything positive it has. «It is a project that looks inward, it is good as a didactic project, to be able to grow as people, in which you learn and that puts you in situations that, perhaps, you had not experienced before.“, has added.
For his part, the Councilor for Education, Raúl Palmero, has spoken about the importance of projects such as ‘Turn off and let’s go’: «They are very beautiful projects and very necessary for the evolution of society, and I believe that you give a tremendous example to all the students who go to see your plays and instill those values that are often lacking in many educational centers.».
Moreno has also highlighted the change of outlook that society has had regarding special education centers over the years. And, in this regard, he has pointed out that «What matters in a society in which we are all normal is to carry out these types of activities normally, and for everyone to see the different capacities that people have and that we are all capable of making art, of make entertainment and thereby gain the well-being of citizens».
Representation
During this course, all students from the preschool and primary schools in the two urban centers of the municipality will have the opportunity to attend the performance of The story of Folcris, a special Pokémon in it Mario Monreal Cultural Center of Sagunt. Likewise, some schools in Canet d’en Berenguer, Quartell, Onda or Algímia have also been invited to enjoy this play. It is estimated that around 1,200 students will attend to see the work.
The work The story of Folcris, a special Pokémon, tells the adventures and misadventures of Kira, a girl who goes to visit her grandfather every afternoon who has dementia and does not recognize her, and the way to talk to him is to tell him stories about Pokémon. «We also didn’t want to do some Pokémon fighting and such. We wanted to do something different and play these two songs», pointed out Pilar Lloris, professor at CEE Albanta-Sagunt.
Likewise, Pilar Lloris assures that they have chosen the Pokémon theme because it interests both the students of the CEE Albanta-Sagunt and the centers that will go to see the work. And, since there are no disabled Pokémon, “Through artificial intelligence we created one and then with this image we have been creating the costumes and so on for our Folcris», he stressed.
The performance lasts around 25 or 30 minutes and then there is a workshop. Several boys and girls from the audience come up and are explained how things work on stage. «It is a way to encourage inclusion and show what they do, what they are capable of. In short, what we are trying to do is show ability, not disability.», highlighted Pilar Lloris.
