Ilkay Guendogan not happy with the reaction Barcelona after being defeated Real Madrid. The non-serious attitude of a number of players in the dressing room sparked Guendogan’s annoyance.
The classic Barcelona vs Madrid held at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, Saturday (28/11) evening WIB. Blaugrana lost to their rival with a score of 1-2.
Barcelona took the lead through Guendogan’s goal in the sixth minute. However, two goals from Jude Bellingham brought Madrid to turn things around.
In an interview after the match, Guendogan expressed his thoughts. The former Manchester City player felt that the Barcelona players’ attitude was not like they had lost an important match.
According to reports Sport, Guendogan’s annoyance was triggered by the attitude of two Barcelona players. When he entered the dressing room, Guendogan claimed to have seen his two teammates joking while playing on their cellphones.
Sports world released other details of Guendongan’s frustrations. It is claimed that the German player did not make such comments because he was simply carried away by the atmosphere.
“After such a big match and such an unnecessary result, I expected greater frustration, more anger and disappointment. This is the problem,” said Guendogan after Barcelona lost to Madrid.
“There should be more emotion, especially when you lose and you know you could have performed better, performed better in a certain situation and instead not reacted.”
“That was reflected on the pitch in the end. We had to take a big step because otherwise Real Madrid or even Girona would have fallen away. I didn’t come here to lose games like this or let the gap widen.”
As a result of this defeat, Barcelona dropped to fourth place Spanish League standings with 24 points. They are four points behind Real Madrid and Girona.
