Empty Strollers: Shedding Light on the Children Kidnapped by Hamas

An installation of empty strollers in Bern drew attention to the children kidnapped by Hamas.

A “flash installation” entitled “Empty strollers” took place on the Bundesplatz in Bern. The installation is intended to express solidarity with the grieving Israeli families. On the empty strollers are the pictures and names and ages of the children who were kidnapped by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The installation was initiated by London parents who demanded: “Bring the children home – holding children hostage is a crime against humanity.” The installation was shown for the first time in London on October 22nd, and other cities, including Geneva, followed. With the campaign, the organizers want to put “pressure on the heads of state and government and the international community” “so that Hamas releases the children kidnapped in this ruthless act of violence and reunites them with their families (…).
