Artist Taha Desouky sent a message to his followers, due to the public’s disagreement over the boycott, pointing out that the issue is not just a boycott of foreign products.
Desouky wrote on his official account on the social networking site “Facebook”: “I agree, but this is not our topic. I am sad about what is happening and I am affected, but this is not our topic. Mark those who discussed the issue to trend, but this is not our topic.”
He continued: “The beatings are still going on and people are still dying. The genocide that is still happening is what we are talking about.”
It is noteworthy that the artist Taha Desouky celebrated his wedding to a girl from outside the artistic community in a family celebration that was limited to the presence of a number of family and close associates of the newlyweds.
