Apple officially launches MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inches most recently at the “Scary Fast” event, where they also introduced the M3 Series chipset and a 24 inch iMac upgrade. While the external appearance is still the same as the previous generation, there are major improvements for both MacBook Pro models which are now equipped with the M3 Series chipset.
Please note that this is the second MacBook Pro upgrade for 2023. The MacBook Pro with the M2 Series chipset was introduced by Apple last January, and in less than a year the Cupertino giant released a new MacBook Pro for its 14 inch and 16 inch models.

The M3 Pro is said to be capable of supporting two high-resolution monitors, while the M3 Max is capable of supporting up to four high-resolution monitors.
This latest MacBook Pro also has a Liquid Retina XDR screen, with better brightness levels. The screen is claimed to be able to maintain a brightness level of 1000 nits, and the maximum brightness can reach 1600 nits when viewing HDR content. Meanwhile, for SDR content the brightness level has increased by 20% from the previous generation, which is now 600 nits.
Regarding power efficiency, Apple said that the 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro can have a battery life of up to 22 hours on a single charge, without explaining the test method. The port availability is still the same as its predecessor, with three Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, SD card slot and MagSafe charging connector. Apple also equipped it with six speakers and a 1080p FaceTime camera.
There is a new color variant that Apple is presenting on the 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pro, apart from Space Gray, namely Space Black, aka deep black with a matte finish. The new color is only available for the M3 Pro and M3 Max chipset versions.
