JinkoSolar CEO Li Xiande was the only solar energy industry representative at the ‘3rd OBOR (One Belt, One Road) International Cooperation Summit’ held in Beijing, China on October 18. attended and shared various experiences in the solar energy industry.
He spoke with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Energy at the China-Saudi Arabia Energy Forum and discussed energy transition and cooperation.
Jinko Solar invested and developed the first phase 1.2GW and second phase 2.1GW solar power projects in Abu Dhabi together with large companies such as Japan’s Marubeni and Electricite De France (EDF), with an electricity generation rate of 1.32 cents/1kWh. By setting a world record for the lowest Internet electricity price, it demonstrated the company’s ability to integrate global resources, influence, and innovation.
According to the Saudi National Renewable Energy Program (NREP) announced in 2019, new energy power generation projects to replace oil power plants will be promoted, of which solar energy is receiving the most attention. The total local renewable energy power generation capacity expected to be built by 2030 is 60GW, of which solar power generation amounts to 40GW.
CEO Resender said, “We attach great importance to the renewable energy market in the Middle East,” and added, “We are very honored to be able to provide more solutions to Saudi Arabia’s energy transition and innovation.”
He continued, “With the conviction to ‘change the energy structure and take responsibility for the future,’ we will leverage JinkoSolar’s strengths to contribute to the international market and actively participate in energy service innovation until we achieve our goal of carbon neutrality.”
