El día de los Muertos, an essential part of Mexican culture, is anchored in Bordeaux. On the menu: parades, night vigils, concerts
Skeletons, mariachis, catrinas… The inhabitants of the Mexican world of the dead are allowed to return to visit the family on November 1st and 2nd. And in Bordeaux, the living receive them with two events bringing together a large number of artists from the vibrant Bordeaux Latina community. For two days, Thursday November 2 and Friday November 3, the association Mexicans in Bordeaux is organizing an event at Place Amédée-Larrieu to celebrate the traditional Dia de los Muertos. On the program, inauguration of the altar of the dead, exhibition, conferences and concert by La Catrina Maria. Room and place Amédée-Larrieu in Bordeaux. Free except workshops.
L’association Latino Mex et LaFiesta Bordeaux have imagined a parade of catrinas on rue Saint-Rémi on November 2. Departure of the procession from La Maison du Pérou around 6:30 p.m. November 3, evening at La Boca, and November 4, Living Los Muertos day, from 2 p.m. to midnight at Vivres de l’art. On the program, altar of the dead, catrina competition, makeup, “Allegra, La Mort Joyeuse” show by Désirée Nijiko and four concerts. Lives of Art: 2, rue Achard, in Bordeaux.
