Poor Punctuality Plagues Main Franconia’s Commuters: Bavarian Railway Company Report Reveals Delays of Regional Trains

Main Franconia’s commuters once again had to be patient last year. Every tenth regional train in the region arrived late at the stops. This emerges from a report by the Bavarian Railway Company on the punctuality of trains.

The report covers the Franconia-Thuringia Express, Main-Spessart Express and the Mainfrankenbahn from the region. The least punctual train connection here was the Main-Spessart-Express with only 77.4 percent of trains on time. Compared to 2021, the connection was another 6 percentage points less punctual.

On the Franken-Thüringen-Express and on the Mainfrankenbahn, punctuality has fallen by around 5 percentage points.

Construction work on the railway infrastructure was responsible for almost half of all delays.

At Deutsche Bahn, a train is considered late if it arrives at least six minutes later than scheduled.
