The F-16 fighter jets promised by the Netherlands to train Ukrainian pilots will be delivered to the Romanian training center in two weeks. This was said by Prime Minister Mark Rutte on Monday during a video conference with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“I informed President Zelensky that the F-16s that the Netherlands promised to deliver to strengthen Ukrainian air defenses will arrive at the training center in Romania in two weeks,” Rutte wrote on his X social network profile.

In addition, he discussed with the President of Ukraine the creation of an alternative route of the Black Sea Grain Corridor.
The Netherlands will supply patrol boats to Kiev to ensure the security of the new route. “We recently held negotiations on this topic in the port of Odessa,” noted the Dutch Prime Minister.
Earlier in October, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said the first F-16s could arrive in the Ukrainian Air Force no earlier than the spring of 2024. Austin added that the United States will lead a coalition of nations that will help Ukraine to restore its own air force.
According to him, Denmark and the Netherlands will also work for this in a coalition.
White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said in the summer that Ukrainian pilots would be trained in Romania and Denmark.
