In the current mobile phone market, most of the photosensitive components of mid-to-high-end mobile phones are provided by Sony. However, it has recently been rumored that domestic mobile phone brands will fully apply OmniVision’s photosensitive components, and domestic CMOS will rise. This news is a nightmare for Sony.
Recently there is news on the Internet that domestic photosensitive element manufacturer OmniVision will announce the 1′ photosensitive element OV50K by the end of the year. The specifications and craftsmanship of this photosensitive element are much better than Sony’s IMX989. More importantly, it is said that HUAWEI and other domestic mobile phone manufacturers will all switch to OmniVision. Regardless of the main camera, ultra-wide-angle, telephoto and front-facing cameras, they will all use OmniVision’s sensor components.
The accuracy of this news has yet to be verified, but Xiaomi has just released the Mi 14 series. The 1/1.31″ Light Hunter 900 sensor in the main lens is exactly the OV50H sensor provided by OmniVision. Maybe it will be launched next year. Xiaomi’s flagship camera, Mi 14 Ultra, will use the 1′ sensor OV50K that is rumored to be released this time.
