The Director’s Thoughts on Being on the Front Line: Alan Badoev’s Perspective

The director admitted that he often thinks about why he is not on the front line.

Ukrainian director and producer Alan Badoevwho recently finished working on documentary project “Dovga Doba”admitted that he often thinks about why he is not on the front line.

In Alexey Sukhanov’s YouTube project “Speaking Sukhanov,” Badoev openly shared the results of your thoughts. In particular, remembering his friends at the front, the director admitted that he was not yet ready to take up arms. The famous video director finds it difficult to come to terms with some terrifying things, which is why his conscience gnaws at him.

Currently, Badoev is trying to resolve his emotional experiences by benefiting society in another way. If he stops doing this, the music video director admitted, he “won’t be able to treat himself normally.”

While the topic is a sensitive one for the director, he shared that he often asks himself similar “uncomfortable questions” when alone and works through them:

“Why am I not at the front?” – I always ask myself. “Why didn’t I take the machine gun? After all, many of my friends took…” One of my parts (consciousness – editor’s note) asks: “Is it scary?” “Scary”. “What exactly is scary?” “A lot of things are scary.” And the other part says to do something so that I forgive myself. Do it. If I don’t do this, then I won’t be able to treat myself normally. In general, in private I can voice uncomfortable questions to myself, because I work with them,” said Alan Badoev.
