Catemaco, Ver.- The Nanciyaga ecological reserve is a beautiful place that allows you to live intimate moments with nature. Just enter this tropical jungle area to feel relaxation and tranquility.
In addition, you can enjoy the singing of numerous birds and the insistent sound of howler monkeys, its main inhabitants.
Carlos Manuel Rodríguez Mouriño, director of the Nanciyaga ecological reserve, highlights that one of the largest projects that exists emerged in 2014, when it began as the reintroduction of the scarlet macaw species.
To date, it is estimated that around 70 of these species survive in the Nanciyaga jungle and nearby properties. The population is increasing, both in artificial and artificial nests.
In addition, the reserve has agreements with the UNAM Institute of Biology, with Xcaret Park, with the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (Conanp) and with North American associations for the reintroduction of the scarlet macaw.
The Nanciyaga jungle shines in all its splendor before the immense Catemaco lagoon. To get to the reserve it can be by boat or by road, about 10 minutes from the municipal seat.
