Fatal Car Accident in Sarcelles: Four Pedestrians Killed on Avenue de la Division Leclerc

A new drama in Val-d’Oise. This Sunday at the very end of the afternoon, four people died in a public road accident in Sarcelles. These pedestrians were on the road, avenue de la Division Leclerc, when they were hit by a car traveling on this two-lane main road but limited to 50 km/h. An investigation, entrusted to the Sarcelles police station, was opened by the Pontoise public prosecutor’s office.

The four victims left around 6:30 p.m., probably, from a premises where a Haitian community event was being organized. According to our information, they stopped suddenly on the road in “an area outside the pedestrian crossing and not lit”, located not far from a technical inspection center, to come to the aid of one of the members of the small group victim of ‘a faintness.

The driver of the Twingo taken into custody

These two men, aged 52 and 62, and these two women aged 31 and 66 were in cardiac arrest when emergency services arrived and could not be resuscitated despite the efforts undertaken. The driver of the Renault Twingo who hit them, a 29-year-old man, was arrested and taken into police custody. “He was negative for narcotics and blood alcohol,” a source told Le Parisien.

A large police and fire brigade was deployed to the scene, prohibiting traffic for several hours. No less than 42 firefighters were on site with five personal rescue vehicles and six support vehicles. Dog and drone units also ensured that no other victims were nearby. A reception center for shocked families and loved ones should be set up in Sarcelles.
