Inter Milan hard to beat AS Roma 1-0 in the Italian League continued. The Nerazzurri’s sole goal was scored by Marcus Thuram.
Inter vs Roma took place at the Giuseppe Meazza, Monday (30/10/2023) early morning WIB. The two teams played a goalless draw in the first half.
After more than an hour of attacking Roma, Inter were only able to score a goal in the 81st minute. Marcus Thuram became a hero with his single goal.
This result brought Inter to the top of the Italian League standings with 25 points. Roma sits in eighth with 14 points.
The Course of the Match
Inter already threatened Roma when the game had only been running for five minutes. Hakan Calhanoglu fired a shot from outside the penalty box which hit the post.
Inter’s golden opportunity came in the 14th minute through Marcus Thuram. The French player failed to score after his shot from close range was blocked by Rui Patricio.
Half an hour into the game, Roma defended more. The visitors’ strong defense made it difficult for Inter to break down.
There were no goals during the first half. Inter had to settle for a 0-0 draw with Roma until halftime.
Inter again tried to take control of the game in the second half. There was a shot from Lautaro Martínez in the 58th minute which Rui Patricio was able to save.
Roma never fired a shot until the match had been running for an hour. On the other hand, Inter is still having difficulty dismantling Roma’s defense.
Roma almost stole the first goal in the 65th minute. Bryan Cristante’s header from close range was saved by Yann Sommer.
Inter were finally able to break the deadlock in the 81st minute. A cross from Federico Dimarco was completed into a goal by Marcus Thuram. 1-0 Inter lead.
Inter continued to press even though they were already in the lead. There was a shot from Carlos Augusto in the 90th minute which hit the crossbar. The 1-0 score remained for Inter until the match was finished.
