Exploring the World of Comics: Workshops and Events at the 42nd Sharjah International Book Fair

The activities of the 42nd session of the Sharjah International Book Fair bring together comic book lovers in more than 60 specialized events and workshops presented by an elite group of artists and creators in the comic book, anime and manga industry. With the aim of developing the creative and artistic skills of children and youth.
The workshops vary between 15 topics focusing on methods of drawing with aromatic stones, drawing on skin, professional artistic methods for coloring comic drawing, digital comics, caricature arts, electronic games, 3D drawing, website design, and others.
One of the most prominent workshops dedicated to picture books is the “Drawing with Aromatic Stones” workshop, which teaches participants how to make aromatic stones in different shapes and colors, and choose the appropriate scents for them. While the “Painting on Leather” workshop discusses the latest techniques for drawing on leather wallets. As for the “Digital Covers” workshop, it helps participants create attractive covers for digital comic books, using specialized programs.
The “Comic Drawing Coloring” workshop focuses on color effects in comic stories, and teaches participants how to use digital coloring programs to add vitality and appeal to drawings. While the “Wooden Book Dividers” workshop allows participants to make wooden book dividers in the shape of different characters, with innovative costumes and features, and provides them with the necessary tools and materials for that. As for the interactive workshop, “Digital Comic Stories,” it aims to develop children’s skills in creating digital comic stories, using simple and easy steps.
The “Augmented Reality Comics” workshop takes participating children and young people on an adventurous journey with augmented reality applications to add amazing digital elements to real comic stories. While the “Comic Drawings on Pebbles” and “Magnetic Comic Drawings” workshops include drawing on pebbles in bright colors, to create characters or scenes inspired by comic books, in addition to an “Electronic Games” workshop, in which participants learn the basics of professionalism in creating simple and fun electronic games. .
The workshops include “Designing Digital Games,” which helps children and youth create advanced digital games. The “3D Drawing” workshop, which includes mastering the work on the Blender program, while the “Digital Content” and “Website Design” workshops, in which participants learn about the latest techniques included in the Photoshop program to create digital content that expresses their creative ideas and visions, while learning about The latest artificial intelligence software tools for designing professional websites.
