Behind this professional term, it is homicides that it evokes. According to The Parisian, Mattéo F., 18 years old, was indicted for three assassinations which took place recently in Marseille: that of two teenagers aged 15 and 16 in the Joliette district (a third had been hit) and that of a 20-year-old Parisian, in the Paternelle district. Investigators suspect him of being the author of other crimes.

Mattéo F. would be a hitman, member of the DZ mafia. According to information from Parisianthe young man was arrested on April 4 in Gardanne.
France 2 met Damein Delseny, journalist at Parisian, who investigated the young man. He describes the profile of a cynical boy, from a middle class background, who acts like a killing machine. “He has a fascination for this “job” that he does – he claims it is a job –, for organized crime and a detachment from the acts he can commit”explains the journalist.
“He claims that he earned around €200,000 from all of his contracts. He is paid to kill. He really is the real hitman.”
The DZ Mafia, for whom he allegedly acts, is reputed to reign over part of Marseille’s drug trafficking. On social networks, they display weapons of war to impress other gangs by staging their violent actions. We see them in a video on rue de Lyon in Marseille, firing weapons at a business.
“We arm hitmen to kill our competitors or impress their loved ones, specifies Frédérique Camilleri, police chief of Bouches-du-Rhône. We sometimes have very young people who are sometimes recruited on social networks to be hitmen and kill targets designated for them.”
As a result, the traffickers promise them profits of several thousand euros.
“Today we have more and more hitmen coming to the Marseille area to try to take part in this drug trafficking war. Knowing that huge sums of money are generated by these deal points. A deal point in Marseille it’s between €30,000 and €90,000/day turnover.”explains Eddy Sid, FO-Marseille Police SGP Unit delegate.
This Sunday, a man was shot and injured in the city of Oliviers (13th). Earlier in the day, three men in their twenties were killed by gunfire in a “reputedly quiet” neighborhood in the 11th arrondissement of Marseille.
