Experts advise disabling the “Automatic screen rotation” feature on smartphones, as it has one big drawback that has a bad effect on the phone’s performance.

This feature helps the user adjust the screen position. If the gadget is flipped horizontally, the display will also flip to a horizontal position.

The big disadvantage of “Auto-rotate screen” is the rapid drop in battery level, since when using this function, a sensor called a gyroscope is activated. Therefore, it is better to enable auto-rotate only when necessary.

To disable this feature, you should lower the notification bar at the top of the screen, find a round icon with arrows and/or a small rectangle, under which it says “Auto-rotate” or “Orientation”. Next you need to click on this icon.
