Former US Vice President Mike Pence is withdrawing as a candidate for next year’s presidential elections. He struggled to raise enough campaign money and make enough progress in the polls.
“After much prayer and consideration, I have decided to end my campaign today,” he said at a rally in Las Vegas. “We knew from the start that this would be a tough fight, but I have no regrets.”
Pence first had to win the Republican Party nomination. He competed against his former boss, former President Trump, whom he served loyally for years.
In 2020, Pence did not go along with Trump’s lie that Trump and not Biden had won that year’s presidential election. Trump was furious. Trump supporters consider Pence a traitor.
