Bill Gates celebrates his 68th birthday this October 28. Born in Washington, United States, the businessman knew how to build an empire that allowed him to amass one of the largest fortunes in the world. Thanks to his leadership at Microsoft, one of the most important companies today, he was able to meet many people with whom he had dangerous friendships: Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Steve Jobs.

Both the former president of the United States, the owner of Tesla and the former CEO of Apple passed through the life of Bill Gates, leaving some controversial disputes that remain to be remembered. The owner of Microsoft is characterized by having a transparent personality, which led him to have discussions with several of the most important men in the world.

In recent years, Gates gave up a good part of his money to participate in charitable causes, making his philanthropic sense clear. That is why he had several meetings with important people in the country to encourage them to do the same and one of them was Trump, before he became president. The leader of the Republican party, before becoming a politician, was famous for his money and Bill wanted him to contribute a portion.

In that context, he met with Trump, but the problem would come when an American media revealed videos of Bill Gates making fun of that conversation. In an auditorium full of people, the businessman accused the person he would later become president of being ignorant.

“On both occasions (when they met) he wanted to know if there was any difference between HIV and HPV, so I was able to explain to him that they are rarely confused with each other,” he explained to the laughter of those present. He even treated him as egocentric by highlighting that he spoke in the third person and remembered how when they met somewhere he did everything possible to avoid it.

With Elon Musk things would become more personal. The Tesla CEO’s biography even includes his confrontation with Gates, with whom they had meetings about philanthropy. Regarding these meetings, Musk would later confess that they were disappointing.

The rivalry increased during the pandemic, when Elon Musk positioned himself against the restrictive measures and Gates came to the crossroads: “Elon’s positioning is to maintain a high level of scandalous comments… I hope he does not confuse too much areas in which he does not is involved,” he said.
