Max Verstappen set the fastest time in the second practice session. The first 16 riders were within 1 second on the short circuit.
In the second practice we saw qualifying and racing simulations. A hot moment was experienced by Fernando Alonso, who spun and ended up off the track. He was able to return to the pits on his own, but his soft tires were a write-off. This is also why Alonso’s time is what it is. He finished last.
Alonso’s teammate Lance Stroll had slightly different problems. The mechanics did not manage to remove his left front wheel for a long time. Towards the end of practice, they resolved the problem and Stroll was able to return to the track.
Raindrops appeared during the training, but they did not significantly affect its progress.
Verstappen was the fastest again in the second practice. Norris finished in second place, Leclerc was third.
