WHO: Severe shortage of fuel and medical supplies puts thousands of patients at risk in Gaza Strip

According to Al Jazeera’s report on October 27, local time, the World Health Organization stated that 12 hospitals in the Gaza Strip require at least 94,000 liters of fuel per day to maintain operations.

Richard Peeperkorn, the World Health Organization representative in the occupied Palestinian territory, warned that there are severe shortages of fuel and medical supplies in the area, with about 1,000 patients currently in need of kidney dialysis and about 130 in incubators. Premature babies are at risk, as are around 2,000 cancer patients and intensive care patients. He called for the continued supply of fuel, food, water and medical supplies to the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need for safe delivery of aid and a ceasefire within Gaza.
