Málaga, Spain.- The Malaga artist José Luis Puche presented the portrait of the artist in Benalmádena, Imperio Argentina, adding to the various recognitions that have been made for several years to the first international singer from Spain.

Fernando Luis Aisa, responsible for the legacy of Imperio Argentina, works hard so that the memory of the singer who was born in Argentina (1910) is not lost, traveled to various parts of the world, leaving her singing and performances as a legacy to the show. She is the only Spaniard who sang and acted with the Argentine artist Carlos Gardel. And she captive Hitler. The last years of her life were spent in Benalmádena, Málaga until her death.

At the presentation, Puche presented his work which, when unveiled to those present, received applause for several minutes and did not clear the view of the painting. The artist from Malaga, excited by the response of the attendees, expressed that: “The portrait of Imperio Argentina is conceived as a living, timeless and eternal figure. Starting from the basis that everything we do in life has its echo in eternity, the way in which she is captured, sitting with her hands crossed, with a still life of her personal objects on a table, and a background that It is reminiscent of the classic architecture in which she lived, evoking the 60s and 70s of that Benalmádena where she came to live, next to a loom that reminds us of the curtains of the great theaters. She appears current and is executed in a contemporary key, since the immense work that she carried out during her life will make it perpetuate itself over time, whatever the era.”

At the presentation were the mayor of Benalmádena, Juan Antonio Lara, with part of the city council corporation, such as the councilor for culture, Jessica Trujillo. Among the guests were the general director of Málaga CF, Kike Pérez, the president of the AECC, Joaquín Morales Rubio and the president of the Together for Peace Association, Remedios Herrero and Fernando Luis Aisa, responsible for the legacy and who was personal secretary of Empire for 11 years, until he died in August 2003.

The presentation of the work was at the Bil Bil castle in Benalmádena. The event was harmonized by the singer Rocío Alba, accompanied by Pedro Gordillo on the piano, to remember the best songs of Imperio Argentina among great applause.

Puche’s work becomes part of the future museum dedicated to the artist where articles, documents, photographs, costumes and more surprises that Fernando Luis Aisa has in store will be displayed.

Attendees had the great gift of being able to obtain a calendar that is part of the Legacy, an initiative that has been carried out since 2010 and on this journey includes works by painters such as Antonio Montiel, Leonardo Fernández or Adolfo Córdoba.

In addition, there will be bookmarks that will be in the Benalmádena libraries for users, so that many users and families will be able to have Puche’s work.

Puche, a restless artist, will continue to present works as he has done at the Center Pompidou in Malaga, the Sydney Opera House, and various cultural venues in Spain and various countries.
