REPORT: On Wednesday afternoon, singer Štefan Margita’s new album was launched at the Lucie Bílá Theatre. Rež, rež, rež/folk songs were christened by multiple golden nightingale Lucie Bílá. PrahaIN.cz had the opportunity to speak with both of them.

Both arrived at the christening in a good mood, especially Lucie Bílá spread smiles everywhere and looked really great in a black dress.

In general, there was huge media interest in the baptism.

The album Rež, rež, rež is a collection of the most beautiful Slovak, Moravian and Czech folk songs. For example, we can mention Išel Macek do Malacek, Černé oči go to sleep or Hey, love, love.

“In the spring of next year, we are doing a big concert tour of the Czech Republic for this album,” Štefan Margita told PrahaIN.cz. The album will be presented in conjunction with a symphony orchestra as part of the tour.

Lucie Bílá baptized the album with champagne. She then threw the plate on the ground as part of the baptism, until it clattered loudly on the floor. You can watch the entire video of the baptism here.

Despite the fact that she warned in advance that she would not answer questions other than those related to the new album, she made an exception for PrahaIN.cz.

A reissue of a legendary album?

Her first studio album was called Lucie Bílá and was released in 1986. Can fans look forward to a reissue? With a big smile on her face, she said that the time had not yet come.

Most of the compositions on this album were composed for her by Petr Hannig, who is often said to be the “discoverer” and who made Hana Zaňáková Lucie Bíla.

She basically started her star career with naughty sneakers from that LP.

“People often ask me why I don’t sing them, but I think that a pacifier is not worn in society. Those were my first steps, for which I am very grateful to Peter Hannig, but it was a long time ago and I am old enough to sing such soft songs. But I like to remember it,” said Lucie Bílá for PrahaIN.cz.

She remembers the collaboration, which only lasted a short time, fondly.

“It was the crucial one, because it was the first,” Lucie Bílá told us.
