Billionaire Elon Musk has warned that military conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine could turn into World War III, the Wall Street Journal reports.
In a podcast discussion on its social platform X (the former Twitter), the head of Tesla said that the main priority of the United States should be to avoid World War III and not to allow a situation in which “a regional conflict can quickly turn into a global one.”
The entrepreneur also added that “US military power is not what it once was,” especially compared to other global powers.
“To put it correctly, nobody is expecting World War III now, so we have to accept that it could happen. And when things get out of hand, before you know it, we’ll have a massive global conflict with devastation that far exceeds World War I and World War II,” he explained.
Musk believes that “the United States is forcing Russia to deepen its relations with Iran and China, which could lead to a disaster for the United States.
In his words, Russia, with its abundance of raw materials, and China, with its industrial capacity, are “a great combination.”
In the online discussion, which was joined by Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Musk urged the US to find a path to peace in Ukraine and “restore normal relations with Russia.”
The billionaire pointed out that there is no anti-Russian insurgency in the Russian-speaking regions of Ukraine, which means that the current front line could become a cease-fire line or a permanent border.
