Maveli Express changed track at Kasarkot Kanhangat. A major accident was avoided as there was no other train on the track. Maveli Express which was supposed to reach the first platform came on the middle track. Passengers scrambled to board the train which was stopped in the middle of the first and second platforms. The officials replied that the train platform was due to a technical fault. Finally the train left the station after stopping for an extra 5 minutes and loading all the passengers. The incident happened at 6.45 pm yesterday.
The Maveli Express from Mangaluru to Thiruvananthapuram entered the station through the middle track after switching tracks. The railway station authorities stated that the reason for the change of train track was point failure. The train left the station after making sure that all the passengers had boarded. It is estimated that a serious technical error occurred yesterday.
