Severe Rainfall and Flash Floods in Northern Oman: Rescue Operations in Progress

Muscat: Heavy rains in the northern governorates of Oman. It was reported that waterlogged roads were formed due to heavy rains in Al-Bidaya area of ​​Al Suwaikh province.

According to a statement released by the Civil Defense, three Omani nationals were rescued from a vehicle caught in a flash flood in Shinass province of North Bathin. Also, Oman Civil Defense reports that they were able to rescue five people from the vehicle that was caught in the flood in Saham Vilayam.

The health status of the eight people is satisfactory, the authorities have informed through the statement. The Royal Oman Police has urged motorists to exercise caution as rain continues in many parts of Oman. According to the announcement of the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of rain in Muscat, South Al Bathina, North Al Bathina, Al Dakhiliya, Musandam, Al Dahira and Al Buraimi governorates.

Rescue teams from the Civil Defense and Ambulance Administration in the governorate were able to rescue (3) citizens after their vehicle was impounded in a valley stream in the state, and they are in good health. The Authority also received another report about the impoundment of a vehicle with (5) people in it in the state, and they were taken out while they are in good health.
