Cofepris extends Abdala vaccine expiration for six more months

Cofepris extended the life of the Abdala vaccine for six more months after it expired

Deputy Éctor Jaime Ramírez Barba (PAN) stated that administering vaccines to the population useless and expired is absolute negligence on the part of the Federal Government.

At a press conference, the legislator explained that on August 22, the National Center for Preventive Programs and Disease Control (Cenaprece) reported in letter 6587 about expired vaccines, which literally says:

“The extension of the useful life to 18 months is acknowledged for the presentation in a cardboard box of 10 vials, each vial for 10 doses of 5.5 ml for a box of 50 micrograms of the Abdala vaccine, in the condition of Recommended storage at 2 to 8°”.

In addition, he accused that the vaccines that expired on August 3, 2022, they will be applied until February 3, 2024; Likewise, another batch that expired on August 30 of that same year “will be useful until February 30, 2024.”
