In the same place where he was murdered, a synthetic field located in the Pie del Cerro neighborhood, dozens of friends and neighbors of 23-year-old Jaider José Cabarcas ask for justice for his memory. Those present remember this young man as a happy person, who liked sports and that in November he was part of a band that toured the streets of Santa Rita in the Ángeles Somos celebration. “We came from the community of Santa Rita and Pablo Sexto to ask for justice from Jaider. We are asking for justice and for the authorities in Cartagena to take action on this situation, and to allow us to carry out an investigation process where they give clarity to the community and his family about what happened,” said Cindy Bustamante Reales, a friend of the deceased. And he added: “Jaider was a young boy and he was not a criminal. Today we demand justice, we demand a free city and that we can be in all these spaces peacefully that are supposed to be for recreation.”
The version that the victim’s relatives have of this event is that Cabarcas was in one of the goals of the playing field accompanied by several friends.

From one moment to the next, two men appeared on a motorcycle at the back of the conglomerate with two fields, in the part that adjoins Marginal San Lázaro, which then joins Avenida del Lago.
From the security gate, says a friend of the young man, one of the subjects took out a gun and started shooting. Relatives assure that the attack was not against Cabarcas. “The guy came shooting at the crazy woman, they hit Jaider because he was closer to the fence. He was a healthy young man who worked and on Thursday and Friday nights he dedicated himself to playing soccer with his friends,” said a relative.
The only thing clear so far is that the attack was carried out with a 9 millimeter pistol. Two shell casings of that caliber were found at the crime scene.
